This policy explains what personal data Northline Studio collects when you use northlinestudio.ie, why we collect it, who we share it with, and what rights you have over it. We've written it in plain English rather than legalese.
Who we are
Northline Studio is a web design, development and hosting business based in Ireland. For the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), we are the data controller for the information described below.

What we collect
Information you give us
When you fill in a form on this site, we collect what you type into it:
- Your name
- Your email address and/or phone number
- Your business name, trade and general location (on our enquiry form for trades)
- A link to your existing website or social page, if you provide one
- Anything else you choose to write in the message field
Information collected automatically
- Server logs. Our host records standard technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you requested.
- Advertising and analytics. We use the Meta (Facebook) Pixel to measure how our advertising performs — see “Cookies and tracking” below.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it for automated decision-making or profiling that produces legal effects for you.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of third-party services to run this site. Each acts as a processor or, where indicated, an independent controller.

Where data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, those transfers rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
Cookies and tracking
This site sets no cookies of its own. However, the Meta Pixel — used on our advertising pages to measure whether an ad led to an enquiry — may set cookies in your browser and share information with Meta, including your IP address and the pages you viewed.
You can control this through your browser settings, your Meta ad preferences, or by using a tracker-blocking extension.
How long we keep it
- Enquiries that don't become projects: up to 12 months, then deleted.
- Client records: for the duration of our working relationship, and for up to 6 years afterwards where we're required to retain them for tax and accounting purposes.
- Server logs: retained by our host for a short period on a rolling basis.
Your rights
Under GDPR you have the right to:
- Ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Have inaccurate data corrected
- Ask us to delete your data
- Ask us to restrict how we use it
- Object to processing based on our legitimate interests
- Receive your data in a portable format
- Withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on consent

If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal data, we'll update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will be made clear.
